I am 39 yrs old. I was recently diagonosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. They also found what looks like an ampullary carcinoma during the EUS. I am awaiting biopsy results now and will ultimately be scheduled for a pancreaectomy. I have had multiple endocrine issues throughout my life. I had an ovarian cyst at age 12. Have always been overweight. Delayed puberty and onset of menses. Was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20's and take glucophage for insulin resistance. I have hypothyroidism and currently have cystic ovaries. I have a small splenule (not sure if this is related). I was wondering if there is a syndrome that matches these findings. I would like to get to the bottom of what is causing these problems. It seems like the doctors are focusing on each piece of the puzzle individually and I feel like the symptoms and diagnoses fit into a much bigger picture. Thank you.

There have been reported associations reported between diabetes and pancreatic cancer. However there is no simple answer to the question of whether pancreatic cancer causes diabetes, or vice versa, and the relationship is likely very complex.
There is also clear association between polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and diabetes/insulin resistance. Addressing and preventing diabetes is a key management principle for patients with PCOS.

Patients with diabetes seem to have a higher prevalence of thyroid disorders compared to the general population. Unfortunately treatment for diabetes will not address thyroid disorders, and treatment of thyroid disorders will not treat diabetes. So even though there are associations between diabetes and pancreatic cancer, and diabetes and hypothyroidism, they do need to be treated in their own ways.
