Dr. Jordan Weinstein Lead Developer Dr. Weinstein (Director) is an internist and nephrologist at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. His background is in medical education and computers, specifically, the planning and execution of e-Learning projects. Dr. Weinstein is a developer of advanced e-learning websites with special proficiency in PHP-based content management systems. He is currently on staff at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in this faculty. Dr. Weinstein is the lead developer of UEndocrine's affiliate site, UKidney.com
Dr. Phillip Segal Editor Dr. Segal is an internist and endocrinologist at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. He is a clinician-teacher and an expert in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Dr. Segal obtained his MD from the University of Alberta and completed his residency in internal medicine and endocrinology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Alice Cheng Advisor and Editor, Guidelines and Ask the Experts Dr. Cheng is a member of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga and St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She has served on the Expert Committee for the 2003 Canadian Diabetes Association clinical practice guidelines and the Steering and Expert Committees for the 2008 revision, along with the Dissemination & Implementation committee. She is serving as Chair for the 2013 CDA clinical practice guidelines.
Dr. Rene Wong Editor, Diabetes and Ask the Experts Dr. Wong is an internist and endocrinologist at University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and a clinician-educator with an interest in continuing education, specifically the role that specialists in supporting the professional development of primary care providers. He is director of diabetes education at University Health Network, Director of Continuing Education for the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Toronto, and current chair of the Banting and Best Diabetes Center's Care and Education Committee.
Dr. Amish Parikh Editor, Diabetes Dr. Parikh is an internist and endocrinologist at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. He is a noted expert in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, insulin pump therapy, diabetes in pregnancy and new technology as it relates to diabetes care. Dr. Parikh is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he completed medical school, an internal medicine residency and fellowship in endocrinology.
Stacey Horodezny Editor, Diabetes As Team Leader for the Diabetes Management Centre (DMC) at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Stacey is responsible for ensuring best practices among the team of 40 staff. She is of innovator in many high-profile diabetes initiatives throughout Canada and is widely published in the area of diabetes education. Stacey is a graduate of Ryerson University, and has been a registered dietitian specializing in diabetes for over 17 years.
