Insulin Profiles

This section of the diabetes starter kit will focus on insulin profiles and understanding how to use different insulin types to manage diabetes. This tool will help compare the profile of action of endogenous insulin as well as the different insulin used to manage diabetes. It is part of the diabetes starter kit and can be used individually by patients or else by diabetes educators.

Diabetes Flipchart

This flip chart is meant to review highlight topics in diabetes, especially prior to starting insulin. Select the thumbnail to view each topic.

Denosumab, formerly known as AMG 162, trade name Prolia, is a fully human monoclonal antibody which is being studied in the treatment of osteoporosis, treatment induced bone loss, bone metastases, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple myeloma and giant cell tumor of bone.

Learning objectives:

    1. Identify patients who require care for osteoporosis by applying risk assessment recommendations
    2. Communicate the significance of hip fracture on mortality rates
    3. Initiate appropriate treatment for men with osteoporosis
